America, you've broken my heart. Taken every last sherd of idealism, every little bit of hope I had left. Now I got nothing but bitterness.

From today's Onion:

Bush Campaign More Thought Out Than Iraq War

WASHINGTON, DC—Military and political strategists agreed Monday that President Bush's re-election campaign has been executed with greater precision than the war in Iraq. "Judging from the initial misrepresentation of intelligence data and the ongoing crisis in Najaf, I assumed the president didn't know his ass from his elbow," said Col. Dale Henderson, a military advisor during the Reagan Administration. "But on the campaign trail, he's proven himself a master of long-term planning and unflinching determination. How else can you explain his strength in the polls given this economy?" Henderson said he regrets having characterized Bush's handling of the war as "incompetent," now that he knows the president's mind was simply otherwise occupied.

ha. ha. ha.  Ugh, makes you kinda sick, huh?

From House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi, on the President:

"The emperor has no clothes," she said. "I believe that the president's leadership in the actions taken in Iraq demonstrate an incompetence in terms of knowledge, judgment and experience, in making the decisions that would have been necessary to truly accomplish the mission without the deaths to our troops and the cost to our taxpayers."

The New York Times, in a review of tonight's "Choose or Lose" (MTV,10:30 EST) says about John Kerry:

"Mr. Kerry is a bass player. He's not a showman on the sax, like that goofy guy from the dot-com years. To his admirers at MTV, Mr. Kerry is in it for the music, not the swag or the girls, and that's why he has that weird expression."

Heh. The Bassist. The out-of-focus-guy. Yeah, he's got my vote.

So, I'm on a friending binge. I've been mooching off of other people's friends list for long enough. A little uncertain of the etiquette involved - do I post in everyone's journal telling them that I've friended them or just mention it if I happen to be posting anyway?

If you've found me - Hello! I've friended you because I find you interesting and/or for fannish reasons. Smooches.

So, I thought I'd start this off right:

You're an Indie Pop Kid. You like songs about
relationships and the prettiness of nature.
You're sentimental, but certainly not emo.
Oh, and if you aren't an English Major, you
should be.

Hell ya I'm indie pop! long live the indie pop.

You Know Yer Indie. Let's Sub-Categorize.
